About:

Rocky Mountain-raised, but internationally educated & traveled, Kate’s art draws from diverse life experiences in environmental & biological sciences, education, fermentation, broadcasting, and writing. Having lived and worked in a remote Icelandic ecovillage, Brooklyn NY, Patagonian Chile, Italian-speaking Switzerland, and Colorado, she uses art to express a love of language, people, plants, and science through a colorful, playful, and illustrative style.

While watercolor, gouache, and coloring pencil are her most-frequented mediums, she has additionally dabbled in printmaking, fibers, acrylic & oils, and photography. Dream creative work? Label design for wineries & craft breweries and (someday!) writing/illustrating science & field guides for kids.

When not found with a paintbrush in hand or behind-the-scenes at a museum, Kate spends her cycling, reading a good book, home brewing, or perfecting her sourdough game.
